The Vortex Bar & Grill always accepts applications for employment. We keep all the applications that we receive on file for a minimum period of six (6) months. When a job opening does become available, we review the applications we have on hand, and contact those potential candidates first. We do not accept any applications through our website. Employment applications may be filled-out in person at either Vortex location, and any resumes or other pertinent information you would like to submit should be attached to the application at that time.

The following simple guidelines will help you in your job search no matter where you are applying:

1) Never show up during a peak business period to fill-out an application. It makes you look like an amateur.
2) Do not dress like a slob. You are trying to show your best, most professional side.
3) Be polite to the current employees. Nobody wants to work with a jerk, and the employees you encounter will surely let the owner or manager know if you were rude.
4) Always have your own pen. Asking for a pen makes you look like a unprepared fool.
5) Don't ask to speak with the manager. You are filling-out an application. This is not the time for a job interview.
6) You will be contacted for an interview if your application is appropriate for any position that may become available. Calling the employer does not help.
7) It is never a good idea to call around asking restaurants if they are hiring. It makes you look lazy. It's always best to get your butt up off the couch and hit the pavement.
